This
is a beautiful corner of Galicia, in North West Spain, that produces
some of Spain’s very best dry white wines from the Albariño
grape, which may have once been the Riesling. The area is cool,
indeed wet in winter and heavily influenced by the Atlantic as
many of the vineyards actually hug the shore line where Spain
and Portugal meet. So far the vast majority of the wines have
no oak influence, being all about the crisp, floral, racy flavour
of the grape. The wines are perfect with fish and shellfish.
