The Loire wine region stretches from the Massif
Central, with its cold winters and warm summers, to
the Atlantic coast enjoying mild weather all year
round. The vineyards and wineries rely on the river
and its valley and benefit from the many smaller
rivers flowing into the Loire, such as the Cher and
the Layon.
The beautiful Loire Valley is particulaly famous for
its white wines made from Chenin Blanc and Sauvignon
grapes.
